When hipsters first appeared on the scene, they made black, square, and over-sized frames cool again. These were especially the ones straight out of the fifties. They defined "cool" as anything outside of mainstream culture. They instilled in everyone the desire to be cool, but they did so in their own unique way. This means that hipster glasses could frame you in a way that would complement your face and make you completely individual (not like others).
The color is the first thing men consider when selecting hipster glasses. For most, it has to be black, square, or rectangle glasses. One of the variations could be a pair where the frame only encloses the top part of the lens. An example of this one is our Spectrum. Another one is the Milo, on our website, which are square glasses. As long as it looks different and black, the hipsters will appreciate it. You might find the odd one here and there that would opt for a different color.
Hipster women are a little different to their male counterparts. However, the glasses were necessary to have as well. The women are a little more flexible in their choices, even though the basic black square frame also has a role to play. The female hipster looks the part in over-sized, round glasses with narrow or metal frames. Both these types of frames can round off any of the hipster styling they choose.
