When buying a new pair of glasses, it is important to know your pupillary distance or PD. Your PD is the distance in millimeters between the centers of your pupils, which can make sure your lenses are optically centered. Your eye doctor should list your PD on the prescription, but you can always measure it easily at home. All you need is a ruler and a mirror.
、Face straight at the mirror and put the ruler against your brow line
、Close one eye and look forward
、Hold the zero of the ruler above the center of one pupil
、Close the eye and open the other eye. Look forward – the millimeter line that matches up with the center of the other pupil is your PD.
、Finally, measure your PD several times to ensure consistency and accuracy, especially with multifocal
