When buying a new pair of glasses, it is important to know your pupillary distance or PD. Your PD is the distance in millimeters between the centers of your pupils, which can make sure your lenses are optically centered. Your eye doctor should list your PD on the prescription, but you can always measure it easily at home. All you need is a ruler and a mirror.

You also need to measure the distance from two pupils to the center of the nose respectively to make sure that if you have two PDs(OD & OS).
